Abstract

Finite Element Analysis is a numerical method that can be utilized to produce approximate (non-exact) solutions to calculations, so various techniques are needed to obtain the closest price to the exact price. Along with  the  rapid  development  of  computer  hardware,  it  allows  the  development  of  finite  element-based software. Currently, there are many commercial software based on the finite element method and one of them is NASTRAN, which can have a great influence on static and dynamic analysis calculations in overcoming calculation problems and several long iterations. The simulations carried out in this paper are the basis of discussion to be applied in various problems, especially for making designs on the rear pedestal of a bicycle with a pillion. In the simulation, the safe limit of the rear pedestal of the bicycle with the results of the simulation analysis obtained in the form of maximum total stress (stress) is 296.3 MPa.
