Abstract

PT. ABC is a company that produces product such as Fatty Acid, Fatty Alcohol, Glycerin, Oleic Acid, and
Medium Chain Triglyceride (MCT), and Fractination of palm kernel procesing (Kernel Crushing Plant). To
produce these products, the hydrogenation process is carried out with the help oh hydrogen. Hydrogen
generation is processed by methanol cracking with methanol feed and demin water. Methanol cracking is the
process of breaking methanol into hydrogen gas with the help of demin water. Methanol and demin water are
mixed, preheated, vaporized, and overheated to form a mixture of hydrogen, carbon dioxide and other
residues. Then the gas mixture is processed in PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) to obtain pure hydrogen. In
the metanol Cracking process at PT. ABC Kuala Tanjung, Zinc Oxide (ZnO) catalyst is added to accelerate the
reaction. Based on the analysis that has been done, it is obtained that the mass of feed entering reactor 114
D1 at 51% load is 1089,1152 Kg/h and the mass of reactant exit is 1089,1152 Kg/h with the composition of
condensate outflow 173,3564 Kg/h, Carbon dioxide 800,5800 Kg/h, and other residues by 6,0089 Kg/h. And
from the graph obtained load control affects the total feed and hydrogen produced. Load control affects
production/system efficiency, reaction stability, energy use and hydrogen production rate.
