Abstract

This research aims to determine the amount of lorry wheel traction that occurs during the process of moving fresh fruit bunches. The lorry is a crucial component at the loading ramp station, where the lorry functions as a container used to deliver palm fruit from the loading ramp station to the boiling station. The research method used is direct observation and data collection in the field. The amount of lorry wheel traction is influenced by the dimensions of the wheels, the load on the wheels on the road, the coefficient of friction between the wheels and the road, road resistance forces, aerodynamic forces, and the adhesive coefficient on the road. From the results of calculations carried out by the author, it was found that during the process of moving fresh fruit bunches weighing 3750 kg, the load force was 4,718.61 kN, and the maximum traction possessed by the lorry wheels was 147,150 kN.
